Rosemount TankRadar® CTS

Extreme gauging conditions
LNG is the lightest hydrocarbon of all and remains in liquid phase only when cooled. Normal transport and storage of LNG is therefore at –163°C and non-pressurized in specially designed tanks. Maintenance of any in-tank equipment can not be done without very costly and time-consuming preparations. A reliable and accurate level measurement must continuously be produced to custody transfer standards, without need for in-tank maintenance.

Pipe size totally decisive
The most important feature of the LNG radar gauge may be its still pipe. A large pipe diameter improves the performance and avoids the uncertainty of level estimation from the ambiguity caused by several detectable modes. With the tank gauge on top of the tank, there are no parts inside the tank that can break down or degrade. The Rosemount TankRadar gauge measures not only level, but also pressure and temperature.

Verification during operation
Traditional LNG level gauging methods have never achieved the operative requirement of verification during operative conditions, with Rosemount TankRadar CTS this is built-in. The operational verification of Rosemount TankRadar CTS is accomplished by a pin in the still pipe above 100% fill level as an upper verification point, and by the bottom attenuator device as the lower verification point. The “verification pin” can be used at any fill level and the bottom attenuator can be used at empty, but still cooled occasions.
