Rosemount TankRadar STaR for Chemical Tankers
For safety reasons, tank gauging is one of the most critical functions onboard a chemical tanker. An overfill can have immense consequenses on the environment. For the first time, three important functions—Level, High Level and Overfill Alarm—are handled by the reliable radar technology, increasing the safety. With Rosemount TankRadar STaR there is no longer a need for an overfill and/or high level alarm mounted separate from the level gauge. More than level gauging can be integrated into one single unit. Rosemount TankRadar STaR maintains the reliability and accuracy of the tank measuring and is not influenced by condensation, vaporizing and corrosion. The radar-based system has no sensors or moving parts inside the tank and will not be affected by the tank atmoshpere. The measuring channels are independent, galvanically separated and intrinsically safe.

Fewer cables on deck
In Rosemount TankRadar STaR it is possible to multiplex the temperature signals from the cargo temperature system and transfer the information to the heating system of the ship. It is not necessary to have extra cables from the gauge to the main cabinet of the Rosemount TankRadar STaR system, which means fewer cables on deck.

Cargo Control System
Rosemount TankRadar Cargo Control System, provides complete integration of monitoring and control functions, such as pump speed control, valve control and power pack control. It is also possible to implement monitoring of other equipment onboard. It gives the operator immediate response on any action taken, and all measured data are instantly displayed. The system can handle discharging and loading of many tanks at the same time.
